The Peanut Butter Story.

Ok Story time. This one I heard many years ago in my childhood ( so beware it actually got a moral of the story to It) , I suddenly remembered it today, so here it is

Once there was this fellow called Jack ( Full name: Jack O' Roole), who, one day in office was having his lunch. He opens his Tiffin box ( a small one, the kind of one that holds 2 breads and small serving of dry salad), to find that he has 2 toasted breads with Peanut butter spread on it. Trust me guys, if there one thing that Jack O' Roole hates it’s the taste of toasted bread with Peanut butter onto it, he has been having this, everyday for the past 15 years.

Seeing this, one of his friends (Yvonne Chang) asks him, " hey Jack, if it is that you hate Peanut butter so much, then why is that you don’t ask your wife to pack something else different, something which you like"

For which Jack replies : But no, she never pack my lunch
Yvonne then asks: "Then who does. "
He says: "I do"

MORAL: many of us keep doing something, we just hate , for years together. Most of the time, you are frustrated, but are afraid to change. Now all you have to do is just stop doing the thing you hate and start doing something you like ( yeah Its sounds easy…. But then conceptually its actually that easy. And like my friend Ashok who says.

" I always like what I do, cause I only do things that I like ".

...

What you believe in, is who you are.

You know what makes you different from me.. Its not who you are, but rather what you think.. That really makes you different from who I am.

Or to put it other way, if you think (and know) all that I know, you can really be me. Its actually that simple, And you know what, you actually shall start liking ( disliking /preferring ) all that I like cause your thinking mimics mine and ultimately both of us become redundant ie. you can be me and start achieving the same level of success as mine- ( well theoretically)

Counter argument -yeah opportunities might vary among us, but my logic is- Opportunities follows your effort, hard work, time and intelligence- all of which is a fall out of your thoughts (except time/luck of course, the probability of which anyway, is equal for both of us , so you can discount that here).

But then this concept is not exactly groundbreaking, its been there for centuries, which is why we are asked to follow the path of Jesus, the way of Gandhi etc.. Which is why we have role models and god fathers, the idea is if we start thinking ( and ultimately acting) as our role models and god fathers are ( ie. Think and act as they would have thought and acted), one day hopefully we should become as great as they have become.

Now that brings us to another aspect too, which is if you really want to change from who you are to something else. Go through a metamorphosis.. Then simple all you have to do is change your thoughts ( you could also call it attitude, frame of mind, principals, priorities, whatever) and you become whoever you want to be. Simple…

Man.. What would the world be without me..

LUV YA
ME

Who knows what the tide brings tomm.

There are some things in life which you cannot change.. Guess you just have to live with it. :-(

There is nothing much you can do about to change it (you would have, if you could have) and guess the best way to go about it, is to just take it as they are and go about your life, and things should change for better soon. (hopefully),

Anyway tomm is another day and who knows what the tide shall bring.

The Elven* Prince and the forgotten princess.

I am a piscean, and Lemme tell you the story of the elven* ( its a kind of a race like the human's - read LOTR for elaborate description) prince - you would have seen versions of this a million trillion times, but still this is the first time it is from me so it is real…

Once there was this fair, tall and handsome elven prince . He is very good in all that he does, he was the darling of 'Eternalive - The kingdom of the Elvish'. He was strong and brave too, the people of the "Eteranalive loved him, they adored him, he was their darling, their child, the ray of hope for their kingdom, the reason why they toiled from dawn to dusk, they reason why they would give their lives to him, if he so wishes too"

But one day, as the fate so destined, and as it happens to all things that are good, this thing was not to last. Our elven prince had a problem, he couldn’t sleep at night or eat his food, he had worrying thoughts, thoughts that could kill people, thought that make you insane and thought that you deeply believe in… he was thinking "what am I doing here leading a life of a prince, what have I done to earn this, while the peasants on the street have to work hard to earn their supper, why is that I get things so easily, when for others it is that much more difficult. Why is there so misery for so many of them and so much pleasure for a few of them."

so he decided on day, to find answers for these- without which he couldn’t live a life of peace, he wanted to know Why are things, ARE the way they are..So he and his Wonton ( that’s the name for his horse, which is kinda of strange but still) set off one fine early morning with a few royal belonging off to place they have never seen before.

They travelled wide and far (which is many many kilometers from where they used to live) and travelled to many many places, where they met many many people- but what they seeked was never to be found. Till one day, they reached a place called the Getlost land ( now this getlost land and its people has a history to it.. But then since it is not relevant to the core plot, I shall tell this in my sequel or if at all I decide my elven hero shall have a flashback), once here, our hero goes to Inn in the "getlost" and asks for a place to stay for the night. Anyway there wasn’t much to do at "getlost land" other than of course get lost of the place and also our hero chose this place, as it was relatively a unknown place to be in, and he could live incognito for however long he decides too. he had hoped that not any could recognize him as the prince of the Great elven race, in this god forgotten place.

But anyway little does he know that with the all the royalty and the radiance he beams, its easy for anyone, to recognize him up a kilometer away and know who he is,(and maybe that’s why he never found what he wanted, cause people always knew who he was before even he spoke a word). But for the meaness of the people they were at "getlost" land, a certain few people noticed his royalty and his expensive belongings and decided to rob those, and one night ( which is a few nights from the first night he stayed there) that’s exactly what they did ( ie. The Getlost land robbers) came and took away all his belongings…. Our hero fought well and bravely… but was against odds. There were 11 robbers against our elven prince.. And in the end not only did our hero lost..he lost miserably and they left our hero to death.( actually at one point in time, our elven prince could have won, but some body stabbed him from behind).

So there our hero was there lying ailing on the roads of "getlost" land , and nobody to care for him on the streets of Getlost land. There he thought, The life he could have led, had he not travelled was not his anymore. The people who loved him, were not his anymore, the answers that he sought, was to not be found anymore. - why was he born this way, why did he had to think and care for answers to queries which nobody knows answers to, why did he come to "getlost" land, and why has he to die now.. NOBODY knows.

And that’s when it happened.. The twist in the story… the twilight of the heaven beeming, the answers to everything he searched for, the reason why he was left alive still, and there among the morning mist, when everything looks hazy and white…. When the freshness of the dew hasn’t yet settled in the grasses, There she came……

Was it destined that she came or was it the stroke of luck, that made them meet….

Hmmm…. I already have the rest of the draft ready.. But I am thinking more, lemme post the remaining of " The elven prince and forgotten princess" story later.

Cloud of Dust.

You know whats the greatest crime in the world, it’s the ability to think what other cannot think of and not doing anything about it.

The power to dream of something superlative, to think what others can only awe at. The thoughts within you which provides an alternative and radical way to do things arrogantly better. The incomparable you, which makes the merger of the consciousness and sub consciousness mind to create a superlative idea, a dream. The belief in you that you are far far superior to others in the thought process.

But ironically the lack of will to enforce it through and put it in action hinders you. Stops you from giving shape to your dreams and make it happen. So these thoughts end up remaining just a cloud of dust in your brain. Just known to you and useless to everyone else. The incompetence in you makes you far far inferior to everybody else in the world.

A disgrace to your own self , to the power of the thought, to the brain that provided the impulses for the thought, a disgrace to the places you would could raised to, if you had the will.

So what are you doing about it, dont know, nothing maybe. Cause the catch 22 is that you know the effect but can not rectify the cause, because even this remains a cloud of dust in some corner of your brain, Just known to you and useless to everyone else.

Wish the time freezes forever.

Today was lovely.. It was raining in Jampot..and when it rains in Jamshedpur its kinda of very nice. I mean it isn't like in Chennai. where the third minute it rains, it gets clogged everywhere and as you know chennai, it doesn’t normally rain there ( I mean rain there is like a government rationed quota, the rain god comes and gives its quota of rain and goes, there is no season per se and all .. for this kind of activity, there). its kind of rude . You never enjoy the rain in chennai

But in Jamshedpur it's different, kinda of great feeling, everything looks fresh and nice. The grass is greener, climate is cool, friends seem closer, even the prof's aren't so terrible after all, and you wish there was somebody there close by with you to share this moment with you.

but if like in most circumstances and for most of us, there isnt anyone worthwhile around. There is a always this nice smell of freshness in the air , the climate and the XL campus which you can enjoy. It is just awesome.

. .. You know what else you could do…. take an Ipod (or steal one from your friend, Just like I did), buy nice hot cup of tea and switch on some nice senti song in the POD (like the one "Uyire En Uyire" - my latest fav from harris Jeyaraj ) and watch the rain as it pours..

Hmmmmm… There you wish time freezes forever here. You don’t want to go anywhere, you don’t want to return the IPOD you stole (even if your friend put senti and asked u to return it :-) ), you don’t want to finish your tea, you don’t want the rain to stop. You wish everything stays still.. Just as it is, forever…...

Million Dollar Baby

Disclaimers:

Actually for the past one month, didnt feel like doing much, Its suprising how priorities change so fast. not that I m getting serious, but somehow kinda of lost the enthu to blog.. anyway there were a few posts which I had typed earlier but never really posted.. ( as it was not say upto my standards...sic.. but still since I didnt want my blog to be idle for long..) I am sending in all back logs.

Dated: sometime back in the last month.

Me being sick of watching nameless, storyless, characterless tamil movies for long ( pls visit my friend JK aka. Jayaram Krishnan's blog http://bjrk.blogspot.com/ for a detailed analysis on whats wrong in Indian movies), - well hold on for a sec on movies, hve I told you about JK.. hmm lemme think, I think I made a passing mension of him somewhere, but I havent told you all how he has become my closest pal in recent time and all, right.. well be right there and keep visiting my blog often, one of these days, I'll do a post on him. ( I m waiting for my CQ - creativity quotient to keep rolling, this one I'll make it sound like a movie script just for the heck of it)..

well back to movies, I was saying, I happed to watch Million Dollar Baby yesterday (my 5th movie in 5 days of my most boring week in years). And man what a movie it was, I am a pretty big fan of Clint eastwood ( the director Clint i.e). I loved " Mystic River" , but I loved " Million Dollar Baby" even more. It just blew my mind away…

The movie is just marvellous, The movie is more than just boxing, its about how people are clueless about why certain things happen to them. Hmm.. Hillary swank and Clint Eastwood deserve the oscars they recieved for this movie.

The final word is

  • If you havent watched " Mystic River " - Go watch it.
  • If you havent watched " MDB" yet -- what are u waiting for, take a day off your work, bunk your class's, but go watch it first.

Chalo catch you later then
tata.
