What's the story, Morning Glory.

Hi: There is this new wall paper which I am currently using of which I am very fond of. ( Yeah I was inspired to put this post by friend of mine)..

I have named this Wallpaper " Whats the story, Morning Glory", and one day when I own my own big bungalow with a beautiful lawn and a ferrari on the porch. I shall have a window just like this and keep put up some nice flowers like this to brighten my day up :-)

Sathishasusual.

Problems with Intelligent Prof's.

Having a intelligent prof. is good, but the problem with a Intelligent prof's is that they set exam papers for which only they can figure out the answers.

For example we have a Economics Quiz tomm. Actually the paper is ok types, But the problem is we have a prof who is a real real genius in Economics. (I have seen a few theortical economists who just Chalk and talk, but nobody even comes close to our prof here, she actually tries to find logical in all the dumb questions we ask and give us some really good answers). So its all nice and a wonderful to be in a knowledgeable world, but thats only until ones goes for quiz in her paper, and man doesnt the paper knock you out. Its like getting shot point blank in.

Last time we had a quiz, we had question which goes something like this " The more spielberg movies I see, The more I like them" So according to this statement, how does the MRS ( read marginal rate of substituion) between " all other goods" and Spielberg movies" change as the consumption of Spielberg movies increases. God now do we figure this out (I am sure even Spielberg doesnt know this, after all he didnt study at XL).. To my credit I wrote the exact opposite answer, so I am not yet quite there, but somewhere in the range ( the other side though).

Anyway being here, there is nothing much we can do I guess, ( except study of course). so we better shape up or ship out.

Life's a Zero Sum Game

I am really bored these days, The Irony is - I got so so much work to do, but still it feels empty. So I thought Maybe I should write about my friends (This time, its for real, not the Sitcom "friends", thought it might come as close in fun part)

EDUTECH and the Gang
First, I am really beginning to miss my friends at EDUTECH, I have got so much used to being with them ( and every single one of them) that I am beginning to miss my friends there. Guess When you be with somebody for nearly 12-14 hrs a day, everyday of the week. You really start getting used to them and really feel their absence, when they are not there. Not just that my company EDUTECH itself, was pretty cool. Infact I have worked for a few top notch companies ( revenue wise) before, but nothing even comes close to the kind of culture we had at EDUTECH. Also the work we were doing there was pretty cool (Information, Knowledge Management, elearning stuff), Things were very dynamic in our business, It was fun being there, doing the thing we were doing and meeting the people whom we were meeting. The fun part was there were a few things which were amiss at EDUTECH which we had to slogg our butt out to make it happen. but thats what made life at EDUTECH differnt. Infact even today I am proud to say, It never feels having worked for someone, It was like working my own company.

anyway like they say, what they took out of me (EDUTECH), I got twice as much in return. (at XLRI)

The Tam Gang:
I am in a great college, with some really wonderful profs teaching us (many of the literally wrote the book on their subject), Am really happy in company of a few good friends like Jayaram- the Charukhan, Kadalai King Kong Mr Karthik, Shiva the Dracula, CM - Self happy man, Gayathri & The Kid, Priya & autodriver, Ashok the olympic (ke) torch bearer, et all ( let me not to miss out my gang at GMP here - talking of whom I shall write a seperate
blog). Its fun to be with the them, and I am the unofficial Thalai for them ( Ah.. Thalai for a change, I always used to be the youngest in all the groups I was with, Now finally its good to be slightly older and being The Thalai). These guys try thier best to pull my legs but little do they know how heavy and strong I am.... ha ha..

So I guess it all tally's in the end, you always get something in return for whatever you miss & at the other end you have to sacrifice something always to get something much more dearer.

You only fool them once.

Why are not my posts that frequent these days, well for two reasons.

a. As you know I am a nascent Blogger, I am sincerely trying to learn more about bloggin by really searching & researching what other peoples write in thier blog and trying to get some inspiration from them, so give me some time before I finish my study.

b. My college is getting more rigorous these days, they are actually giving me homework, assignments, quizes et all. For a long time I was hesitant to all these, as I thought - what crap is this- writing homeworks etc.. are all kids stuff, and guys dont HW,they do bigger things in life they bunk classes, watch movies, download mp3 etc. But I realised, you only fool them once (remember my XAT experience), once you get in, they dont let you get out, unless you really work things out.

So I have decided - to take the effort -to try -to start -to think -about Acads soon. which means lesser time to allot to my blog, these coming day. I shall also try to revamp the site with lot better graphics and styles once I get back with studying other people sites.

I am Shaken but not broken... (by logic).

Its hearby announced to the world at large that the "Administrator Ignoramus" ( ME, ME, ME), is agitated and is terribly confused and angry at Sarah for talking Logic .

He refuses to acknowledge anybody as more intelligent than him, and for whosoever trying to be so, he challeges them to write final semester engineering exam of Power electronics and score lower marks than him ( or for that matter any paper of the 6 semester Eng.)

He further pronounces that all promos offers are cancelled, including his proposed future suprise gifts to every 20 visitor, These gifts- which you may have won- includes his castle in europe, the Neverland Ranch- which he incidently bought from MJ recently-, his brand new 5 seater executive chopper, 2 Maybach cars, and bit of Sun City in S.A. etc..

PS: FYI, gifts would have been distributed as when I earn those things, if you all had been nice to me, but unlucky you..

Sathish.

PS: Nevertheless his highness ( ME, ME, ME) would like to thank all of those guys & Gals, who had nothing else better to do life, instead browsing such a incinerating blog and trying to make sense out it for their heights of cyber madness. AMEN.

Modern Times

Hey I saw Charlie Chaplin's modern times yesterday,( Yeah I know I haven't yet started studying yet but I am trying, I even have all the books lined up in front of me, So the moment I decide to study, BOOM there is it, all my books right up there waiting for me), but until then, I shall see Charlie Chaplin movies

I don't know why I suddenly started liking Charlie Chaplin movies again ( the last I saw one was when I was roughly 11 yrs old when my school had bought a new color TV (that was state of art technology then) on which they showed Charlie Chaplin movies to us). It was great fun then, It is still great fun now ( Ironically after so many years also, I am still going to a school (only this time its a B school, Don't remember what they used call the first one as, Maybe an A school or something. Yeah wait I remember now, it was called "sbo-A" school - Ok I was exaggerating this a bit- So) but guess what I am still laughing at those Charlie Chaplin movies.

Infact my sudden interest in chaplin was because, The other day we actually had a class for us where they showed Chaplin movies ( The intensions are different but, my Managerial Comm. Prof uses his movies to teach us Body Language, Its about how CC ( yeah that's Charlie Chaplin - Don't expect me to use the full words all the time, I am a computer guy, we abbreviate everything - GFYIYDT), anyway he was teaching us as to how CC, without even uttering a word, was able to communicate a whole range of Human emotions. you would see everything in his movies, from anger to love, from laughter to sadness just through his facial expressions and body language. A Great Actor he is.

Ok to end, now that we were discussing CC, let me tell you some trivial things about CC before we close for the day

  • CC's first full length film was called " The Kid"
  • CC had a total of five wives and had fifteen children in all. (Man talk about legacy)
  • On an average, he always married women aged 16-17 ( irrespective of whatever age he was in), His last wife was 17, when he married her, at his age of 54
  • Was 73 years old when his youngest son, Christopher, was born.
  • Ranked #79 in Empire (UK) magazine's "The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time" list.
  • On 3 March 1978 his dead body was stolen from the Corsier-Sur-Vevey cemetery. It took until 18 days before the police found it.
  • A much-repeated story claims that he once entered a Charlie Chaplin-look-a-like-contest and finished third! In some versions of the story, he came in second.

  • Now for the best part, Although Adolf Hitler was not at all a fan, he was aware of how beloved Charlie was throughout the world at that time, and that was the reason he grew the Chaplin moustache: he thought it would endear him to the people. (Source: The Tramp and the Dictator)

Ok until we meet again, cya…

A lonely genius or a famous fool

( PS: This post might contain a few spell chk errors and grammatical sentence formation errors, Kindly bear with me, I am revamping my complete blog for spell check and grammer in a days time).

Ok, Here we go, There is this other theory I have, which goes something like this, if you really think through your complete life and wonder who has been with you
the most ( qualitatively & quantitatively in terms of no. of hours you spent with them), and wonder who can help you in your life for anything you want in life. You would realise that nobody nobody in your life, can stay that long with you in your life. BUT dont lose heart yet, there is someone there ( no not me yaar, I hardly know you- but I dont mind if you are girl with the kind of character I look for).

But say if you think introspectively ( yeah there's word like this, I checked in Wikipedia), you would realise that Its always JUST you whos been there with you always whenever you wake up, whenever you have a problem and for all 24 hrs a day ( yeah its a weird thought, but I shall explain this in a moment, wait). The point is when since you spend so much time with yourself and if you are not comfortable with yourself then you got a problem. Can you stay put a friend or partner whom you dont like for 24 hrs a day and 365 days a year for your full like. Well its that bad.

Most times, we just arent comfortable with ourselves,we just do things because we think people will like us more if we do the things they like us do. We want people to accept us & love us. But the point is, if you, are not your real you, Who will they accept ( your just your proxy you, your are no longer yourself). Infact when I was talking about this one of my friend, he said, normally people would prefer to be a " famous fool" than a " lonely genius". Now isnt that seriously bad. Yeah its ok to want people to like you, but like he said you would end up only being a fool if you can live your whole life in trying to make people like you.

Its easier said than done, but the irony is but if you really believe in yourself and not really worry too much about what others percieve of you, then that makes you comfortable, cause you are no longer suspectible to outsiders and thier thoughts, you are not longer a mirror (which just reflects the world, you are who you are) and ironically thats what makes more people to like you more.

Now Super Ironically- having said all this. I should also confess that I have all this thoughts and type in all this, but this isnt me, I am not like this. I like people more, I like being with the them, & whoever is it (call me a Obssessive Compulsive Extrovert), and sometimes I do things, just for the sake that somebody around me likes it and makes him feel happy. Its not like that I am not comfortable with myself or anything, ( I can stay all alone for even months together if I want to, as long as I have play my Playstation to play with, my archies-ayn rands-robin cooks-Crichtons-economic times to give me company , have a steady source of new english movies, I can even make jokes and talk to myself and be extremely happy). but just that It wouldnt compensate for someone talking to me and being with them. Now going by own logic, I dont know if that makes me a emotionally weak or not ( FYI & Suprisingly, I always prided in myself being very strong emotionally). but anyway thats how I am and maybe on hindsight maybe I should try to be more of I.

Laloo in Bihar, Aloo in Jharkand.

Guys & Gals, I just made a startling discovery, This happened while I was eating at out mess ( how aptly they have named the place) as usual and eating our usual favourite dish ( by now you should be in a position to guess what I mean).

See, its goes like this,

On an average a person at XL eats about 150 - 200 gms of aloo per meal ( Wait, I know you guys read BFA- Basic Financial Accounting- I'll factor in conservatism later.).

Ok, where were we, yeah 200 gms of aloo per meal, well there over 200 students on campus,
that makes it over 40,000 gms of aloo per single meal or rather 40 Kgs of aloo. Multiply it by 4 meals ( which includes the evening snacks too, where they serve aloo pakoda, aloo bajji, aloo in aloo, aloo with aloo toast & what not), we get about 160 Kgs of Aloo per day at XL.

Now we kinda of eat that for what, 30 days a month. So when multiplied we get 4800 Kgs of Aloo's a month. Thats a mind boggling 4.8 Tons of aloo a
month by just mere 200 XL students, WOW man thats revelation. Agriculture has been the sector with the slowest growth in our economy, Man arent we are doing a bit to improve it. I am really impressed by the Altruistic intentions of these guys. Imaging with 4.8 tons of aloo productin in Jharkand, how many poor families can eat thier daily meal ( and really eat a wholesome food without aloo), send thier children to schools, wear decent clothes. Weep weep, I am crying, why didnt I realise this before, Why did I crib about eating this heavenly food for the sake of a billion Indians. What difference does it make if one poor Indian ( yeah, thats me), die of too much aloo in his system, alteast it helps the billion others.

MAN, WHAT AM I DOING, SOMEBODY STOPPPPP MEEE, BEFORE I GET MADDDDD EATTTTING THIS ALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

"WYSIWYA- What you see is who you are " The Movies and Sitcom blog

I have been bloggin some heavy stuff recently,I dont know If you really read it (I have counters in blog, I can exactly figure out how long you guys spend on my blog ( which I can see is not really that long anyway) and from where you are, so no cheating). and yeah I know the things were a little over enthusiatic ( you know I just started blogging about a week back and how I was like all hyped up. and all that), Apologies, if I bored a few of you with my talks about 3 phases of life and how coincidences are a key factor in them, how Alanis Morristte sees life as two sides of the coin (literally), on why you should always take HIStory with a pinch of salt and what a wonderful person I am, and what a great college I go to and all.

So I thought, well thats enough, Considering most of you current readers are inside XL campus ( atleast temporarily until I get a fan following outside). I realized that since you guys are already sick by eating too much Aloo at the mess. Let me not complicate things with even more Gas (than Aloo) from my side, and so I came up with this bright Idea that I shall write a blog on the movies & sitcoms I have recently seen.

Incase you want to know, Movies and watching sitcoms is my other hobby, I do a bit of research on these, before and after watching them, I read little things (which normally is of no use to anyone whatsoever) like what was the budget of the movie, when was it released across the world, what were its shooting locations, what had been its world wide weekly collections, what are other people's opinion etc.. )

Anyways to begin With, I recently saw Friends Season 1 and 2 - I have watched other seasons in bits and pieces but this is was the first time, I watched complete seasons and followed the story, and man Wow what a great serial it is,The serial is really really funny. Particularly the casting, its just marvellous (how I wish I was in New York with Racheal, Ross , Chandler, Phoebe, Monica and Joey- and in that order of preference- lemme know yours btw). The sitcom has got a kind of nice feeling to it,that irrespective of whatever mood you are in, it never fails to charge you up ( I normally see those in quick 20 min slots whenever I am depressed or demotivated, to really charge me up). I have yet finished all the 10 complete seasons, but going by the current trend I should be finishing those real fast.

then, I saw Spider man 2 (you wouldnt believe, this DVD was always like a kind of jinx to me, that I have rented the movie three times from three different places to watch, and everytime it stops somewhere mid way and doesnt run further), but somehow I am thru with it now, I felt Tobey Maguire ( of course, our friend Kirsten Dunst) was great in this movie, ( Tobey was better in this than "Cider house rules"- he was too young in that movie), the special effects were awesome, really loved it. Spider man 1 was kinda of a childish movie, but 2 was more of love, emotions, and failures etc, kinda of touching. ( particularly towards the end, I so much wanted MJ to say yes to Peter parker, uummm....).

Otherwise, I have the following movies in my hard disk, which I am yet to watch " Resevoir Dogs" (did I tell you, I am a very big Quentin Taratino fan (just loved his Kill Bill 1, 2 and his cameo in desperado), Unfaithful (I like Richard Gere- though I havent watched many of his movies), and Shawshank Redemption ( have seen it once some 5 yrs ago), Shall send in posts on these, if I find these movie interesting and If I can weave a story around it.

Ok then take care and thank your passing by my blog. (Put in some Comments, when you get the time, I really getting bored blogging all by myself).

Romans, Countrymen and Lovers- Let me explain the HIStory of the world.

"Romans, Countrymen and Lovers", that was the start to my reading assignment passage for my Managerial Communication class yesterday. the content of the passage was such that I was supposed to be Brutus ( Yuck.. I like Caeser more - Atleast I could have flirted with Cleopatra that way, ( or was it Antony who flirted with Cleopatra))- forgive me if I am wrong in my history.

Nevertheless, Me being Brutus, I was supposed to justify to my colleagues ( or rather, my fellow countrymen) in a convicing stage performance (without the usual theatricals) & marvellous communication talk, as to why I thought slewing Ceaser was a pretty cool thing to do then. - ( I have done similar presentations and talks in my work life where on a few occasions, I had confidently bull-shitted my way thru on , but this was different, as the period of set in History and you know how weak I am in history.)

Anyway now doing a fast forward (and skipping the part where I did my speech and nobody got convinced - Infact I was so unconvincing, I myself felt bad for killing Caeser- at the end of the day he was pretty cool dude man, I shouldnt have killed him), But the point was, it made me thinking as to what History was and how do you believe it. OR lemme explain, tell me "Was Brutus right in killing Ceaser, or should he have stayed at home and watched "Friends" instead and wondered what a lovely pal, Ceaser was.

Now, Seriouly Thinking ( and deeply so, going to the deepest parts of my brain), I realised that Brutus was right in his own way, for his own acts, and Caesers for his. Nobody can really say who's right and who's wrong and thats the funny part about HISTORY. Whether you believe in Caeser's story or Brutus's story depends on whose side of the story you believe in or put it other way, History is never accurate that it always somebody's intrepretation of the his side of the story. ( or rather who's telling the History).

PS:Just a sec here, The credit for this idea goes to my Organisation Behaviour "Prof Dr. Fenn", These are my intrepretations of what he had taught in class.

Taking this a little further, the very word History comes from "His" " Story", which just means his side of the story. Take any incident of history of that matter, we generally tend to accept whatever we are told, BUT how do you very whats the truth. for example, we all have read in our history books that Alexander was a great emperor, but how do you know he was indeed a great emperor ( have you met him in person, All you know was that somebody felt, he was a great guy). I am saying, For all you know he could have very well been a blood thirsty warrior, who enjoys killing people and is a chauvinist with a perverted mind ( Now C'mon, even with my weak history knowledge, I know alteast thats not possible, as playboy was not published then, and Internet was still in its conceptual stages). But still therotically, if you really extrapolate, this shall be the case with every other historic fact too (Dan Brown made a billion by weaving a story out of this concept- you would realise this If you really understand what is he trying to say).

Think Again.

  • Why do you pray to the gods you do, - do you do it because you really believe in them or do you do it, because somebody ( typically the pontiff or the head guru) thought wow its pretty cool to pray to this god, ok from now on, everybody in our religion shall pray to this god.
  • If the US said, Iraq has WMD ( weapons of mass destruction), find facts and question as whether is it so really. ( it doesnt matter whether you really find it out or not - Even till date, Bush also doesn't know that), but still the point is dont accept whatever is being said at face value.
  • Was Pakistan right in asking for Kashmir ( Hell no, Kick them, I am an Indian), but still question, whats their side of the story, or what thier HIStory.
Find facts.

Infact its for this precise reason that I dont read the Times of India, its such a useless paper. They never state the facts, they rather intrepret the fact and provide us thier opinion (who cares about what they think). and funny its rated the Worlds largest read english daily, ( Maybe people thought, why go thru all the extreme of finding the facts and thinking about it, isnt it easier for us to let somebody else us to think for us and provide us with thier opinion - Theory of Marginal Utility being put to use).

Ok, Guess I have made my point, and to put an ending note, Dont even take whatever I have put here at face value, BEGIN, by questioning this too.

XL(oR) I -- Been There, Done That.

Its been almost a fornight since I am here at the institute, so howz is the college like?

Well, for teasers, The college got a kind of culture which is very difficult to explain ( anyway there is unwritten oath- not to say much) but just to give you a feel.

  • How do I put it, The college is a bit like the Japan- you know everything about the country once you are in there, but literally nothing outside it. Infact very few things actually get out of the college, you have to be here to really know that.
  • Its a bit like the New York- this place that never sleeps. I can get out of my room at 3:00 am in the morning and confidently find atleast 10 others to say hi to. infact I sometimes wonder, when does the XL day start and when does it end.
  • Its a bit like the Germans- Very passionate in what they do, and Always giving it thier best shot.
  • A bit like the French- Stylish and sexy,
  • A bit like the Brits - Sophisticated and Suave
  • and Very Indian B school at heart- ( to the extent that there are very particular that they serve only aloo/ dal for every food that is ever served).
So In essence like I had put in my previous post (The one on Alanis morisette), college is little of this with a little bit of that. but at the end, Trust me this college deserves to be the best in the country on any count.

Well that was the college, how was it for me. Things were little ok, the first week, ( guess it was more like the warm up period, where in boxers just punch in the air). But now The schedule is getting tighter and tighter, day by day. I am getting to feel that the full faculty of the college have joined forces together and are in the ring to knock me out.

But those who know me, shall tell you, I am not the guy to let go of good fight (Tamil Slang: ana pechu pecha than irukanum, Intha line a thandi na num poga maten, XL vara kudathu). I am planning taking it head on, Now lets see, if its going to be XL(oR) I thats going to be the last man standing and win this game.

Psst: The funny thing about this,is that I know the results (Talking to a few alumni and knowing the history of the college) There is always a tie in the end, and its always that both the XL and I shall win. (but everyone who's every studied here shall tell you for sure XL does knock the breath out of you in the first round (1st term) Hands down.

but whatever it is, I am very glad that I am now here, but slightly sad that I have leave it in a year. (Mine is an Exec PG prog of 1 yr duration), but one thing is for sure, throughout my life I can always say that I've " Been There, Done That" at XL.

One hand in my pocket

Hi:

I know this is not my original post, but there is this song by Alanis Morissette called " Hand in my pocket" from the Album " Jagged Little Pill" , Which I like very much. The lyrics is pretty cool and kinda got a nice attitude to it. ( if its possible hear it with the song, its awesome). I wanted to post it in my blog, as it kind of signfies what most of us would like to be.

-----------------------------

Copyright of the following song rests with Alanis Morissette. ( Link to http://www.alanis-morissette.com/) - You know I dont want to get to wrong side of the law. ( not alteast before I finish college ;-)

Hand In My Pocket

I'm broke but I'm happy
I'm poor but I'm kind
I'm short but I'm healthy, yeah
I'm high but I'm grounded
I'm sane but I'm overwhelmed
I'm lost but I'm hopeful baby

What it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be fine fine fine
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving a high five

I feel drunk but I'm sober
I'm young and I'm underpaid
I'm tired but I'm working, yeah
I care but I'm restless
I'm here but I'm really gone
I'm wrong and I'm sorry baby

What it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be quite alright
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is flicking a cigarette
And what it all comes down to
Is that I haven't got it all figured out just yet
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving the peace sign

I'm free but I'm focused
I'm green but I'm wise
I'm hard but I'm friendly baby
I'm sad but I'm laughing
I'm brave but I'm chickenshit
I'm sick but I'm pretty baby

And what it all boils down to
Is that no one's really got it figured out just yet
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is playing the piano
And what it all comes down to my friends
Is that everything's just fine fine fine
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is hailing a taxi cab...

Bye

The Full Circle

I had a certain thoughts in mind, So I penned this in. But not sure how much, I succeeded in putting in words. - Whoever is reading this, pls give in your comments, so that I Learn and write better next time.

---------------------------------

The Middle: Coincidence

The End: Moksha (Enlightenment)

The Beginning: Planning

COINCIDENCES:

Its sometimes suprising to see how important coincidences can play a important and a turning part in our life. Infact in the hindsight, ALL ( I stress the word ALL) that was ever important to us was coincidental (Those things that you never planned, and things that makes you think - NOW HOW THE HECK DID THAT HAPPEN OR NOW WHERE THE HELL DID HE/SHE COME FROM). Think deep- how did you get your job (you might as well have got into thousand other companies and been very different from what you are), how did you get to met your friend /girl friend ( You could have never ever met he/ she in the first place and the world would have been a safer place still), your happiest /saddest moment, go on. Did you choose your parents. - infact what you think are you choices arent really choices, its just that you happen to decide that way that moment, ( & I swear you would have very well chosen the other way on another day another set of circumstances). C'mon its more than what you would really accept.

THE MOKSHA:

Think deep and ( after many years) you would realize that what you thought was coincidental was in reality, NOT coincidental but a master plan being executed by someone( Think a wee bit spritually and you would realise this) . Things don’t just happen just like that, they happen because they aught to happen like that.

THE PLANNING:

Now the catch: And the irony is that, things wouldn’t move one inch if we don’t plan for it, ( and work & die like crazy striving towards it- That Planning), How many Saints you know lead a decent worldly life, I got my right freedom of thought and I say they make their own lives a misery to live, ie without proper dress, proper food, proper house, proper nothing- how different is that from that drag on the streets.

The Full Circle:

So Finally, if you plan and work extremely good ( The planning). You can be dead sure that things wont happen the way you intend it to happen (the coincidence), but eventually you become what you are ( and end up living with whoever that crank happens to be, with whatever great/lousy job that you'd happen to do- that’s the Moksha), .

End of the day, life is a full circle, you would only end up worrying to much, if plan TOO much and worry about the results (as things are too coincidental for that - it never happens the way you want it), Life is a pain and misery to live, if you leave it to whims and fancies of fate ( Plan is much bigger than you think - everything don’t just happen like that ) . And finally Life is a dry and dead if directly strive for TOO much self independence and fight for your own place in the world (Realise Howard Roark's was a cartoon character of Ayn Rand) ( ie Moksha-Trying to understand the plan before you pass through the first two phases).

The Moral:

TAKE LIFE AS IT COMES, ACCEPT THINGS ARE THEY COME (no cribbing or taking credit please), AND YOU WOULD END BECOMING ( AND KNOWING ) WHO YOU REALLY ARE.

What they dont serve you at the XL Business School?

My First Blog:

For Starters:
I am Sathish Muthuswamy, An Engineering Doom (from a college in chennai we fondly call the IIT Surupet - No not the one where they actually teach engineering, this is a different ), I am now at a XLRI Jamshedpur (doing a program, called the GMP - a funny name for what is actually a good program)-After many many years of persisent effort, XL finally thought, I having, so many years of experience in writing XAT, have the relevant experience needed for the progam and admitted me to thier college, (Shucks, I should have tried the same trick with IIM's too)..

Hobbies:
I am a very Passionate player of Sony Playstation 2, and I spend so much time on the PS 2 daily, that I have come to believe that If PS2 were a girl I would have married it and would have lived happily everafter. but since its not, I am still Unmarried.

Otherwise I read a lot of books (and would have read about 2000 of those 'Crichton' style Novels), I love Sporting hero's (basically I like watching very fast action sports and love the players for thier hard work and spirit, but personally I dont really PLAY any sport where you might have move more than 2 feet from where you are standing).

BELIEFS:
I am a Hindu by birth , and I believe AYN RAND, ROGER FEDERER, LANCE ARMSTRONG, EINSTIEN, PHILIP KOTLER, AR RAHMAN, MICHAEL PHLEPS ( and a few others) are reincarnations of GOD.

WACKIEST THINGS:
Like most others, I have done some wacky things in life, a few things that come to my mind are, I once shot a teacher in class (you know the one where you mock, with your fingers like pistols), and I got caught by another prof who saw me from the window. He literally harrassed me ( suprising considering that the prof whom I shot, didnt die) and called my parents to meet the Chairman of the college, and That Dumbo of a chairman made me actually sign a letter saying that "Never again will I shoot anyone in the class" and a through disciplinary action would be taken if at all I was caught again shooting someone else. - GOD what and all people get caught for..

I have had my share of Blushes and Crushes, but nothing worked out, So I am still trying my luck..

Among other things, I have about nearly 6 Years of workex now. I joined Marketing because of my passion for that,Trust me I was really a very very very programmer,( I vividly remember correcting my college teacher on quite a few occasions where she made mistakes on advanced c++ programming. To my credit I even scored a centum in microprocessor programming in college), Still I chose marketing since I thought I could be someone there ( curse me and my Piscian Instincts for that). Before Joing XL, I managed to lead the marketing team nationally for my company, which was in elearning and Knowlege Management.( more of that crap later).

I guess this is enough for one blog. let me login later with my experience at XL.

PS: Why is this called " Sick of Aloo " blog, because I am sick of aloo and at the XL mess, they serve ( and only serve) Aloo in anything, from breakfast, lunch, evening snack to dinner.
